Happy birthday Amitabh Bachchan: Hindi cinema's biggest superstar ever?

 

Amitabh Bachchan has to go down as the pioneer of Indian cinema for a long time. The greatest of actors all across the nation have always been a huge admirer of Amitabh Bachchan, tells you a lot about the impact that he has left in the industry. Today he turns 78 years old and it is simply fascinating to see how well he is still going around despite being in an age group where people find it hard to even walk out of their bed. He has been consistently good all these years and here are some of the things that probably makes him the biggest superstar Hindi cinema has ever seen, surpassing even the likes of Dilip Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan.

Dominance

 The dominance of Amitabh Bachchan in the late 70s and early 80s is second to none. When we look at the other big stars such as Dilip Kumar, Raj Kapoor, Dev Anand, Khans, there was always a competition for them even at the peak of their careers. But in the case of Amitabh Bachchan, it has been a lot different. When he started going with big hits, there was no one around him. It was also the time when Rajesh Khanna suddenly took his time off from the films and that worked in the favour of "Shehnshah of Bollywood". That being said, you cannot take anything away from the amount of work put out by Amitabh Bachchan. 

Evolution 

There have been too many superstars of the gone times and they do not have the same aura anymore. They are not even remembered anymore, they are completely forgotten and have failed the test of time. Interestingly, most of these superstars came after Amitabh Bachchan in the business yet he is still going strong. It has a lot to do with the fact that Amitabh Bachchan simply evolved over the years. When he realised there are new faces who have taken over as the stars of Hindi cinema, he accepted it wholeheartedly and did character-driven roles which also were true to his age. This has helped him in the long run as he's still having a lot of interesting roles under his pipeline. 

More than just acting 

Some of the actors do not look forward to anything else but acting. It is good to be so dedicated to your work but you got to be away from being just an actor to have new experiences which will also help you get better as an actor. Amitabh Bachchan has always realized it and has tried a political career and also a TV host. While he was miserable at the former, he has truly been a household figure thanks to his amazing work in KBC. He has given a lot of value to that show and in turn, has increased a lot of value for himself at the same point of time, making it a win-win situation for both of them.
